Yesterday (July 4th), I ran the North Lake Whatcom trail. It was my first time running it, although I did ride my bike on it a couple weeks ago. Last time I was at this trail there were a lot of trees and brush covering the trail at about mile marker 2.5. I'm happy to report that the fallen trees have been cleared and you can now run, bike or walk to the end of the trail.

I started running a bit before mile marker .5, ran to mm 3, and back to mm .5, hubby and daughter rode their bikes and fished while I ran. I was hoping to see their bikes and I ran back, but did not. So I walked to the car, they weren't there, so I walked back up the trail almost 1 mile and finally found them.
All in all, I ran 5.25 miles and walked about 2.5. My running time was approximately 53 minutes for the 5.25 miles, a little over 10 minute miles, a lot of room for improvement, but I;m still happy with the time.
Since I'm kind of training for a half marathon and definitely going to do the Chuckanut Foot Race on July 12, I've been trying to run more often. My problem is that it's really hard for me to find time to fit running into my schedule. I ride my bike to work, and for work, so I get a lot of exercise that way, but I've found it difficult to try and add running into the mix.
I am excited to say that I ran three times in the last week!!
This may not be revolutionary for many people, but I guarantee it's amazing for me.
